He recorded Bach's Suites for violoncello, live recording of Shostakovich's violoncello concert conducted by Maxim Shostakovich and Kodaly's Solosonata (awarded Gramophone Editor's Choice). The record "Reflections" connecting old and new short compositions of composers as Messiaen, Strauss, Pärt, Zemek and Saint Saens was awarded by "Harmonie award" for the best Czech record. Jiří Bárta cooperated on recording of the song recital of Magdalena Kožená for Deutsche Gramophone, which won the Gramophone Award in 2004. His last record of sonatas of Moscheles and Hummel was released in April 2006 at Hyperion publishing.
