Ľubica Vargicová studied at the conservatory in Bratislava and with Vlasta Hudecová at the city´s Academy of Performing Arts. Even as a student she guested at the Slovak National Opera as the Queen of the Night in ´The Magic Flute´, Olympia in ´The Tales of Hoffmann´, and Violetta in ´La traviata´.
Later, now as a member of the company, she scored successes in other leading coloratura roles - Lucia di Lammermoor, Amina in Bellini´s ´La Sonnambula´, Ophelia in Thomas´s ´Hamlet´, and Marie in Donizetti´s ´The Daughter of the Regiment´. Her busy schedule takes in the world´s leading opera houses and events (Vienna State Opera, New York´s Metropolitan Opera, Zurich Opera, and the Salzburg Festival) and concert halls (Carnegie Hall, as well as Japan´s most important venues). A CD released on the Opus label in 2000 gives testimony of her vocal accomplishments.
